When first creating your Recsite system, it's important to create a tiered database structure that will apply across your website and software systems. Most importantl is the two-tier industries and sub-industries categories as these apply across the platform including in:
- When posting job adverts to the site
- When searching for candidates, applications and jobs
- On the front-end website for functions such as Job search and candidate registration
- Engagement tools such as job alerts
- Syndicating job adverts to external sites such as job boards e.g. Monster
Two-tier means that each of the core industries you create will have it's own sub-list of sub-industries (often called Job Positions) which apply to that niche.
NOTE: Candidates can only choose ONE industry when registering but can choose multiple sub-industries. This also applies to jobs being posted into these categories.
To access the core industry management tool, please login as an administrator and then go to the admin menu in top right of screen (gear symbol). From the drop-down options please choose Industries to be taken to that section.
You can add new industries on this page as well as Edit and Delete industries. To EDIT an industry simply click on the industry name and you will be able to change the name. This can be useful if you already have jobs and candidates associated with an industry and don't want to lose that association.
To edit the sub-industries please click on sub-industries for that industry and you will be able to edit the sub-industry values for that industry.
NOTE: You can also edit values such as industries and locations from the Post a Job page.
From the Industries page you can also create one-time matching of industries with those of external partner websites (Job boards etc).
